Botulinum toxin type A is an injectable neurotoxin that goes by the brand names Botox® and Dysport®. It is applied in aesthetic surgery to remove unattractive facial expression lines. The correction occurs because botulinum toxin temporarily paralyzes the muscles responsible for these lines.

The best indications for botulinum toxin treatment are in the upper third of the face, for correction of vertical frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal furrows on the forehead, and crow's feet. It is also used in the treatment of sweating in areas such as armpits and palms.

The application process is simple. Local anesthetic creams are applied to the area to be treated. The application process takes about 10-15 minutes. Within one week, the effect is visible.

You will be able to resume your normal activities immediately following treatment, but we may ask you to refrain from strenuous exercise or other strenuous activity for the rest of the day, and to keep your head upright.

Botulinum treatments' wrinkle-reducing effects vary depending on the patient, the area treated, and the product used, but results typically last 5 to 6 months.
