Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as nose job, reshapes the nose by lowering or increasing its size, eliminating a hump, altering the tip or bridge's form, narrowing the nostrils' width, or altering the angle between the nose and the upper lip. When paired with surgery on the nasal septum, this treatment may help to alleviate some breathing problems.

Dr. Esat Olgun performs rhinoplasty as one of his most popular aesthetic operations.

Consider Rhinoplasty if you want to:

Have better  aesthetic appearance of the nose

Improve your breathing

Before the procedure,

The patient should describe his expectations as clearly as possible.

The patient is well educated about the procedure and the postoperative period.

The patient should stop smoking at least two weeks before the procedure and inform the doctor about any medications he is taking.

The patient shouldn’t take aspirin and herbal supplements at least two weeks before the procedure

A detailed picture of the patient is taken one day before or immediately before the procedure, and general anesthetic preparation is made.

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that is done under general anesthesia. It may be done using either an open or closed approach. The open technique differs from the closed approach in that an incision of less than 0.5 cm is performed on the columella (the soft tissue which separates the nostrils). The scar that is left behind is barely noticeable and usually fades with time.It is best to discuss which approach is most appropriate for you with your doctor.

The procedure will last between 1.5 and 2 hours. The length of hospital stay is usually one day.

There are risks associated with aesthetic nose surgery, as there are with any surgery. There are risks specific to rhinoplasty in addition to the risks related with general anesthesia in this procedure.

Patient displeasure or other unwanted changes (minor asymmetries, persistence of breathing problems, unsatisfactory nasal shape, etc.) might occur after rhinoplasty at a rate of 5–10%. Some of these could need revision procedures.

After the procedure,

You will spend one night in the hospital following the procedure. You can either go home or to the hotel the next day.

You will have internal and external nasal splints following surgery, which are removed five days later (the day before you leave).

The patient may go back to work after one week. Activities that are more strenuous may be resumed after two to three weeks. For at least eight weeks, the patient should avoid from any actions that might harm their nose or cause it to get sunburned. It is beneficial to apply a sunscreen that provides UVA and UVB protection. It can take a year or even longer to get the final results.
