Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

Sagging of the arm skin may occur after excessive weight loss or due to aging. The recovery of the skin and soft tissue of the arm area between the elbow and the shoulder joint is known as arm lift surgery.

On the inner sides of the arm, there are surgical scars at various levels, depending on the severity of the issue. This procedure can occasionally help with excesses that extend to the armpit.

Smokers should give up smoking at least two-three weeks before surgery, as is advised for all procedures. The patient should let his doctor know what medications he or she is taking. Before surgery, blood thinners may need to be changed or stopped. Don't take alcohol and supplements for one week before the procedure.

The operation is performed under general anesthesia and duration of the surgery is around 2 hours. After their procedure, our patients spend one night in the hospital before being discharged the next day.

You will wear a corset on your arms for three weeks after the procedure. For the first three days following surgery, it's crucial that you keep your arms raised to promote recovery. The first shower after surgery is usually taken on the fourth day, and you can return to work within 10 to 14 days.
